Kora Shriners proudly present the 63nd anniversary of our Shrine Circus. The Kora Shrine Circus has entertained both children and adults in Portland, Lewiston and Augusta since 1953. This year's circus will be a 2-ring circus with many of the top acts you've come to expect.
This Family Extravaganza will surely excite children of all ages. The Kora Klowns will be there to greet you as you walk in and be available for autographs and pictures.
THERE ARE REALLY two times when the circus means something to people. Once when they are children and see it through their own eyes and again when they have the opportunity to see it through their children's eyes.
NOWHERE CAN YOU FIND a more wonderful rhythm than at a Circus performance. This is my impression - a three-ringed land of magic and enchantment - peopled by clowns and equestrians, by animal trainers and the man on the flying trapeze.
A CIRCUS is a magnet drawing people from far-flung lands...and their languages are as varied as the tongues of Babel. To some it is a home ... to others it is fame and excitement ... to many it is a fortune.
I LOVE A CIRCUS. You ask me why I should love a Circus. It's the oldest form of entertainment that suits grandma and grandpa, ma and pa and the kids. That's why I love the Circus.
MOST KIDS HAVE A DREAM of what they would like to be or do when they grow up. The one dream they all seem to have in common is to be part of a Circus. Some, the lucky ones, eventually realize this dream.
THE CIRCUS is the only ageless delight that you can buy for money. Everything else is supposed to be bad for you. But the Circus is good for you. It is the only spectacle I know that while you watch it gives the quality of a truly happy dream.
WHEN I FIRST JOINED THE CIRCUS, they called me a "first of may guy" because that's when you are the greenest. The second year I was a "Johnny-come-lately" because I thought I knew all the answers. But "first of may" or "Johnny-come-lately," I am a Circus man from beginning to end.
The Kora Shrine Circus Committee is always looking for volunteers to help us during our shows. If you are interested in helping out or if you would just like to send us your comments, please click on the 'contact us' link above. Or complete the form below.
