Six years ago Kora Shriners decided to offer a car show that was different; on flat grass instead of hot asphalt, roomy parking arrangements, music and food. We tried to evolve by listening to comments to make this show a premiere show to attend. The flyers we hand out are like invitations to our event so in essence, you are our guest and should be treated as such.
As we evolved, we tried to address problems with other shows to make ours better. Problems like bias/unfair judges, club block voting, and not enough classes. Our solution was to get automotive professionals to be judges. This addressed most problems that were happening at other shows. Their selections, in most cases, were right on or if they differed at least the cars they chose were deserving of the recognition that they got.
It has been said that at the 2009 show two judges were heard to say that there was no time to see all of the cars. If it was said, it was wrong. Our guests deserve to have the best judge spending the time that is required to find the best in all classes. This is why we have returned to peer judging. Who knows show cars better than the owners. By giving the car owners only three classes that they have to judge, there should be plenty of time to find the best. Please give me your best choice from the classes that you have been given and knowing there is a difference in opinion as to what “best” is that should make the difference between first, second, and third.
Thank you for helping us recognize the best.
