Twitchell's Airport

Twitchell's Airport / Seaplane Base is located on Route 4 near the Auburn-Turner line. Dale Twitchell owns and operates this airport. Twitchell's Airport/Seaplane Base has been in the business of training pilots for nearly 60 years. The airport was created by Dale's parents, Ronald and Evangeline Twitchell. They built the airport and seaplane base in 1945 and 1946 respectively.

Twitchell's Airport / Seaplane Base is built on 125 acres. It includes a 2400 foot hard surface runway and a 2300 foot turf runway. Their business includes flight training on wheels and floats. They are a full service land and seaplane base, carrying 100 LL fuel and offering repair and parts. They are open seven days a week.

Twitchell's is one of the few operations left in the United States -- east of the Mississippi -- that permit you to rent their floatplanes solo after your rating is obtained. Lodging packages are available nearby. Their staff can provide you with the highest quality service arranging your trip.
