The West exacted a bit of revenge last year in Lobster Bowl No. 15 with a come-from-behind 15-14 victory thanks to a remarkable and unforgettable two-point conversion run by Biddeford's Phil Bourassa with 1:55 to play in the game.

Last year's game turned into the biggest blow-out in Lobster Bowl history as the East won for just the second time on 14 tries with a resounding 55-8 triumph.

2nd quarter: Nkolo Nyada (Cony) 31-yard TD run 13-0 Nyada PAT successful.14-0; Jeff Parenteau (Belfast) 10-yard TD run. 20-0 PAT failed; Keith Derrig (Portland) 30-yard TD pass to Chad Garwood (Winthrop), 20-6. Bryan Laverriere (Biddeford) pass to Will Hews (Portland) for 2-point conversion, 20-8.

Lobster Bowl No. 13 in July of 2002 saw Nolan Patten of York win MVP honors for the West after helping his team to a 13-0 victory. Patten kicked two field goals and an extra point and his punting kept the East team pinned deep in their own end for a good portion of the contest.

2nd quarter: Nolan Patten (York) kicks a 22-yard field goal. 3-0

3rd quarter: Mike Bennett (Massabesic) scores a TD on a 1-yard run. Patten kicks the PAT. 10-0

Lobster Bowl No. 12 also went to the West when South Portland's Chris DeVinney kicked a 41-yard field goal for a 16-14 win. West quarterback Jason O'Tash of Massabesic threw for a touchdown and ran in for another score during the victory.

1st quarter: Jason O'Tash (Massabesic) 42-yard TD pass to Colby Frankland (Bonny Eagle) with 6:08 to play. Chris DeVinney (South Portland) boots the PAT. 7-0

2nd quarter: O'Tash (Massabesic) 1-yard touchdown plunge with 1:56 to play in half. (PAT attempt blocked.) 13-0. Marcus Corey (Mt. Blue) 75-yard TD pass to Rob Dion (Lewiston) with 1:39 to play in first half. (PAT attempt blocked.) 13-6

3rd quarter: Mike Mowatt (Oxford Hills) 15-yard TD pass to Josh Clark (Skowhegan) with 2:30 remaining in the quarter. Corey (Mt. Blue) pass to Don Thibodeau (Lawrence) for succesful two-point conversion. 14-13

Biddeford quarterback Bob Parisien tossed a 40-yard touchdown pass to Thornton's Josh Gregoire for a first quarter score. Placekicker Keith Ruel of Biddeford added the PAT, but that was all the scoring the West could muster as the East prevailed for the first time ever with an 18-7 win in Lobster Bowl No. 10.

Lobster Bowl No. 8 took place on Friday, July 11, 1997, and it is the closest of all the East-West clashes to date. The West secured a narrow 17-16 win when Chulho Choi of Biddeford kicked a PAT after Jimmy Ray of Leavitt scampered 41 yards with the tying score. Sanford quarterback Zach Matthews hooked up with teammate Pat Toulouse for a 66-yard touchdown pass in the opening quarter.

1st quarter: Ryan Bolduc (Lawrence), 5-yard TD run. PAT successful. 7-0. Zach Matthews (Sanford) 66-yard TD pass to Pat Toulouse (Sanford). PAT successful. 7-7.

Game No. 5 - Saturday, July 23, 1994

At Waterhouse Field in Biddeford

Kennebunk's Jamie Cook was named the West MVP after leading his team to a 31-18 win over the East in Lobster Bowl No. 5. The Rams' quarterback rallied the West from an 18-16 deficit. He had a first quarter scoring run, a 36-yard field goal, he ran in for a two-point conversion and he added a PAT. Dan Bothwell of Wells added a score with a 31-yard pass interception return for a touchdown.

At Waterhouse Field in Biddeford

The West claimed Lobster Bowl No. 4 with a 35-12 victory. Thornton quarterback Kirk Purvis tossed two touchdown passes (one to Trojan receiver Matt LeBlanc) and Reuben Sevigny of Biddeford bulled over from the one-yard line. West defensive backs Shawn Walton of Biddeford and Brian LeClair of Sanford each intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

1st quarter: Kirk Purvis (Thornton), 9-yard TD pass to Matt LeBlanc (Thornton). PAT successful. 7-0. Kirk Purvis (Thornton), 10-yard TD pass to Tony Aceto (Cheverus). PAT successful. 14-0.

2nd quarter: Shawn Walton (Biddeford), 68-yard pass interception for a TD. PAT successful. 21-0.

3rd quarter: Reuben Sevigny (Biddeford), 1-yard TD run. PAT successful. 28-0.

4th quarter: John Tennett (Bangor) 11-yard TD pass to J.D. Way (Belfast). Extra point unsuccessful. 28-6. Brian LeClair (Sanford), 35-yard pass interception for a TD. PAT successful. 35-6. Tennett 24-yard TD pass to Tyson Weherman (Mt.Blue). Conversion unsuccessful. 35-12.

At Waterhouse Field in Biddeford

The third Lobster Bowl moved to Waterhouse Field in Biddeford (where it's been ever since). The East went ahead 7-0 before the West scored 18 unanswered to move on to an 18-7 win. Thornton's Art Leveris was unstoppable scoring two touchdowns, kicking a field goal and adding a point after kick as well.

1st quarter: Jason Jabbar (Waterville), 1-yard TD run. Extra point kick successful. 7-0. Art Leveris (Thornton), 2-yard TD run. Chris Cote (Biddeford), score for two-point conversion. 8-7.

2nd quarter: Art Leveris (Thornton), 34-yard field goal. 11-7.

3rd quarter: Art Leveris (Thornton), 1-yard TD run. Art Leveris kicks PAT.18-7.

4th quarter: No scoring.

Game No. 2 - Saturday, July 27, 1991

At Alumni Field (University of Maine) in Orono

The second Lobster Bowl took place at Alumni Field at the University of Maine in Orono. The West dominated play for a 40-0 triumph thanks to scores from Adam Cote of Sanford, Mike Sinclair of York, Kevin Letellier of Biddeford, Jason Kast of Marshwood and Tom Langstaff of Thornton Academy.

1st quarter: Adam Cote (Sanford), 3-yard TD run. Dave Demers (Sanford) point-after kick. 7-0. Mike Sinclair (York), 14-yard TD run. Demers kick successful. 14-0.

2nd quarter: Kevin Letellier (Biddeford), 58-yard pass interception for TD. Demers kick successful. 21-0.

3rd quarter: Matt Gaudet (Mtn. Valley), 2-yard TD run. Conversion failed. 27-0.

4th quarter: Jason Kast (Marshwood) 2-yard TD run. PAT successful. 40-0.

Game No. 1 - Saturday, July 28, 1990

At Hill Stadium (Thornton Academy) in Saco

The first Lobster Bowl was played at Thornton Academy's Hill Stadium in Saco on Saturday, July 28, 1990. The West raced to a 24-0 lead behind touchdowns from Marshwood's Steve Knight and Abel Schultz and they scored an eventual 24-12 victory. York's Matt Ronca also passed for a successful two-point conversion in the fourth quarter.

1st quarter: Steve Knight (Marshwood), 13-yard TD run. Knight rush for the 2-point conversion. 8-0.

2nd quarter: No scoring.

3rd quarter: Abel Schultz (Marshwood), 1-yard TD run. Chris Goulet (Biddeford) pass to Mike Soucy (S. Portland) for 2-point conversion. 16-0.

4th quarter: Matt Friedman (Jay), 46-yard TD run. Matt Ronca (York) pass to Matt Koza (Lisbon) for 2-point conversion. 24-0. Jon Christopher (Madison) 8-yard TD pass to Clayton Abbott (Madison). Conversion failed. 24-6. Bill Dolley (Messalonskee), 6-yard TD run. Conversion failed. 24-12.
