The Kora Chanters

Mission

The Kora Chanters, our chorus, was formed and became a Temple Unit in 1947. The Chanters provide music at our Ceremonials as part of the entertainment for the nobility but also as an integral part of the ceremonial ritual. Participation in parades and other public entertainment and education programs is also undertaken with the approval of or upon request from the Potentate.

Membership

Uniform and Dues

The blazer, trousers and fez worn as a uniform are supplied by the unit. Current dues are $10.00/year.

Attendance

Four rehearsals are held monthly on Thursday evenings at the Temple and attendance is required for participation in Ceremonials and public functions.

Application

Membership is by election upon application and additional information is available from the Director, Officers or members.

Miscellaneous

In addition to official Temple functions, the Chanters often perform for nursing homes, senior citizen groups and other functions as requested.
